Two separate road accidents kill four in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS)- Four persons including a student have been killed and nine others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in the districts on Friday. 

Of the two accidents, one took place in the early hours of today at in front of Dhumghat Forest Office on the Dhaka-Ctg highway under Mirsharai upazila in the district while another accident occurred in PAB Road near Fazil Kahr Hat under Karnaphuli upazila in the district, police and witnesses said. 

Three people including a college student were killed on the spot when a bus collided head-on with a timber-laden stationery truck in front of Dhumghat Forest Office in Mirsharai upazila at about 2.30am today.
 
The deceased were identifies as Nafiz Ayon, 16, son of Nur Alam of Mszidiya village of Mirsharai upazila, Sanitur Nahar, 25, daughter of Md Helal of Chandgaon thana in Chattogram city and Montu Meah, 45, son of late Nya Bepari under Katlamari village of Fultali upazila in Gaibanda district.
 
Nafiz Nayon is the 17th batch student of National Maritime Student in Chattogram City. 

Police recovered the bodies and sent injured persons to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for improved treatment.
 
In another accident, Ali Abbas, 28, son of Goal M Sharif of Jeori village under Anowara upazila of the district died on the spot when his bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle at about 6am today.
 
Police recovered the body and handed it to his family after completing all legal procedures.
