Smuggled goods worth Tk 56 lakh seized at Kurigram

KURIGRAM, April 18, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth around Tk 56 lakh and arrested two individuals during separate drives at different border points in Kurigram district.

According to BGB sources, a special team of Kurigram Battalion (22 BGB) conducted the operations and recovered mobile phone displays, fuel oil, a motorcycle, and various types of drugs.

Legal procedures are underway against the arrested individuals.

Commanding Officer of 22 BGB Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mahbub-ul-Haq said the force is maintaining a zero-tolerance stance against smuggling and drug trafficking in line with headquarters directives.

He further said BGB members are performing their duties with professionalism to ensure border security and curb illegal activities.
