RAJSHAHI, June 3, 2026 (BSS) - Gratuity cheques have been distributed among the retired employees of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and the heirs of deceased employees.
The distribution took place today at a program held in the City Hall conference room at Nagar Bhaban.

RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton was present as the chief guest.
At the event, the RCC Administrator handed over gratuity cheques to five recipients — retired staff and heirs of the deceased.

Speaking at the program, the Administrator said, "RCC is an institution for citizen services. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given me the responsibility to take this civic service institution forward. I want to continue working for the development of this city together with all of you."

He said, "To alleviate water logging during the monsoon season, we have started work to remove silt that has accumulated in the drains for a long time. To digitize the activities of RCC, QR codes will be installed on holding nameplates as a pilot project in future. There are also plans to take various service cables in the city underground."

The program was presided over by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim.
Others who spoke included RCC Employees' Union President Md. Shakil and Mir Alam Don, son of late RCC employee Azahar Ali.

At that time, the RCC Administrator also inquired about the well-being of the family members of the retired and deceased employees.
