PM mourns loss of lives in Venezuela earthquake

DHAKA, June 26, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by terrible earthquake occurred in Venezuela.

In a condolence message, the Premier said: "We are deeply saddened by the huge loss of lives and extensive damage caused by the terrible earthquake occurred in Venezuela”.

On behalf of the people of Bangladesh, he expressed deep sympathy to the families of those who were killed in the earthquake.
 
“We stand by those who have lost their loved ones in this moment of irreparable grief. At the same time, we wish a speedy and complete recovery to all the injured,” Tarique Rahman said.

In this difficult time, he said, the Bangladesh’s people are expressing their full solidarity and sympathy to the people of Venezuela.
 
Bangladesh always stands by the affected people, he said.
 
“For the government and people of Venezuela, we sought strength, tolerance and speedy recovery in dealing with this disaster,” the Prime Minister said.
