DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested seven leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies from the city's various areas 
as the interim government banned all activities of the party and its affiliated or associate bodies following the July Mass uprising.

Police arrested them during the last 24 hours through separate operations in the city, according to media and public relations division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) press release issued here today.

It said such operations will be continued in the future to maintain law and order in the city.

Among the arrested, one each was arrested in Shyampur Police Station, Mohammadpur, Pallabi, Khilkheet and Rupnagar and two were nabbed from Uttara East. 

It said the DMP's six police stations conducted drives in the city to arrest the members of AL and its affiliated bodies.Legal procedure is underway against them, the DMP release added.
