Minimum age for admission to class IX in technical education reduced to 12 yrs

DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - The minimum age requirement for admission to Class IX under the SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) curriculum has been reduced. 

Under the new decision, the minimum admission age has been lowered from 13 years to 12 years.

The information was disclosed in a notification issued by the Technical Education Board today.

According to the notification, the board's notice on the main registration activities for the 2026-2027 academic year, published on May 23, had fixed the minimum age for admission to Class IX at 13 years as of December 31 of the previous year.

The authorities said all instructions mentioned in the previous notification will remain unchanged except for this revision to the age limit.
