DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 79 
people allegedly involved in various crimes during special drives conducted 
in different areas of the capital.

Deputy Commissioner of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division NM 
Nasiruddin issued a press release here today saying that the day-long drives 
were conducted on Wednesday.

Among the arrested, there was one non-listed extortionist, he said.

Police also arrested 31 people on charges related to terrorism, hijacking and 
robbery, and 47 others for alleged drug trafficking, the release added.

Police said such drives will continue to maintain public safety and law and 
order.
