RCC Administrator inaugurates tree plantation at Rajshahi Court Academy

RAJSHAHI, June 17, 2026 (BSS)- As part of implementing the ‘25 Crore Tree Plantation in 5 Years’ program, a tree plantation drive was inaugurated at Rajshahi Court Academy. 

This noon, Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, inaugurated the program by planting a saplings as the chief guest on the Rajshahi Court Academy field. 

A discussion meeting was organized in the hall room of Court Academy to mark the tree plantation.
 
Speaking as the chief guest at the meeting, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said to implement the election pledge of the current government, '25 Crore Tree Plantation in 5 Years,' RCC has launched a citywide tree plantation drive with a target of planting 2.5 lakh trees. 

Various educational institutions are also stepping forward to make the tree plantation program successful. With everyone’s collective efforts and cooperation, we will successfully implement the tree plantation program. 

The RCC Administrator also urged everyone to come forward to plant and conserve trees to maintain ecological balance, combat the adverse effects of climate change, and build a green, eco-friendly, healthy, and livable city for future generations. 

The meeting was presided over by Head Teacher of Court Academy, Shafiqul Islam. Metropolitan Jubo Dal Convener Shariful Islam Joni also spoke. 

Senior teachers of Court Academy Golam Mortuza Milton and Mahbubul Ikram Faruk; along with local BNP and affiliated organization leaders, distinguished persons, and other teachers and students were present at the meeting.
