NARAYANGANJ, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - Three food establishments in Sonargaon of
the district have been fined a total of Taka 600,000 for preparing and
selling food in unhygienic conditions.
A mobile court conducted the drive on Tuesday afternoon in Mogorapara
Chowrasta area of Sonargaon. Assistant Commissioner (Land) of the Sonargaon-
Kanchpur Revenue Circle and Executive Magistrate Fairuz Tasnim led the
operation.
The fined establishments are Boishakhi Restaurant, Shikdar Dine and Isha Kha
Mishti Ghar.
According to the mobile court authorities, the establishments were found
preparing, storing and processing food in unhygienic conditions. The
businesses were fined under relevant provisions of food safety and consumer
rights protection laws, and the fines were collected immediately.
Fairuz Tasnim said the drive was conducted to ensure public health and food
safety in the area.
Such drives will continue regularly to ensure the health and safety of
consumers, she said.
During the operation, the authorities instructed the establishments to
maintain hygienic conditions while preparing and selling food in the future.
Sonargaon Upazila Sanitary Inspector Mosharraf Hossain and a team of
Sonargaon police were present during the drive.
