MANIKGANJ, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today fined a sweetmeat factory Tk 50,000 and sealed it for producing Ghee, Chhana and sweets in unhygienic conditions at Saturia upazila in the district.

The court, led by Assistant Director of the Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection Asaduzzaman Rumel, found the factory using flour, dalda and dirty water to produce the items.

The factory had allegedly been operating in this manner for seven to eight years and supplying products to sweet shops in Dhaka, said the official.

He said such drives would continue in the public interest.
