RAJSHAHI, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court has fined two establishments in the BSCIC Industrial City area for operating without obtaining a Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) certificate.

The mobile court was held in the metropolis on Monday on the initiative of the BSTI Divisional Office.

During the drive, an establishment, Rose Pure Drinking Water, was fined Tk 7,000 for producing and selling packaged drinking water without renewing the BSTI quality certificate and for illegally using the BSTI quality mark on the product label.

Besides, another establishment, Shoaib Sifat Bakery, was fined Tk 6,000 for producing and selling cakes in an unhygienic environment without obtaining a BSTI quality certificate.

Shahriar Islam Nasif, Executive Magistrate of the Rajshahi District Administration, led the mobile court while Engineer Junaid Ahmed, Officer of the Certification Marks Wing of the BSTI Divisional Office, Rajshahi, served as the prosecutor in the court.

Such drives will continue regularly in the public interest to prevent adulteration and ensure the supply of quality food products, officials concerned said.
