CHATTOGRAM, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - A significant quantity of narcotics has been seized during a anti-drug operation throughout the Chattogram Range. 

During the operation, which lasted 24 hours on Monday (August 24), 40 drug-related cases were registered, resulting in the arrest of 194 individuals. Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury reported that the operation yielded 2,619 pieces of Yaba, 23 kg 390 grams of marijuana, and 146 liters 500 milliliters of liquor.

Furthermore, cash amounting to Tk 225,000, obtained from drug sales, was confiscated. Among the 194 individuals arrested, 56 are identified as drug dealers, one as a drug carrier, and 137 as drug users. 

As part of the anti-drug efforts, mobile courts have sentenced 105 individuals to various terms of imprisonment, and a total fine of Tk 37,750 has been imposed.
