NEW YORK, June 5, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Harvard University called an executive order issued by Donald Trump Wednesday banning it from bringing in new foreign students for six months "retaliatory" amid an escalating battle between universities and the US president.

"This is yet another illegal retaliatory step taken by the Administration in violation of Harvard's First Amendment rights. Harvard will continue to protect its international students," said a Harvard spokesman.
