GOPALGANJ, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - A 17-year-old covered van helper was killed in a road accident this morning in the Pona area under Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district.

The deceased, Md. Simanto, son of Mofizur Rajman Montu, was a resident of Putkhali under Benapole Police Station in Jashore.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when the covered van collided with another vehicle from behind, said Md. Roman Sub-Inspector of Vatiapara Highway Thana.

Simanto was injured in the crash and later on-duty doctor declared him dead at the Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, SI Roman added.

His body was handed over to the family after legal formalities.
