Man killed in Narail train accident

NARAIL, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - A 32-year-old man was killed this afternoon after being hit by the 'Ruposhi Bangla' train at the Kalna-Kamthana area under Lohagara upazila here in the district.

The deceased was identified as Riazul Molla, son of Fazlul Huq Molla, a resident of Morcha Uttarpara in the same upazila.
The accident occurred around 5:00pm when the Dhaka-bound 'Ruposhi Bangla' train, which had departed from Benapole in Jashore, struck Riazul as it passed through the level crossing at Kalna-Kamthana.

According to eyewitnesses, Riazul was standing on the railway crossing when the train approached. Railway Station Master Mihir Bala confirmed this account.

The impact of the collision severely injured various parts of Riazul's body, including his head and legs, leading to his death on the spot.

Ajit Kumar Roy, Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara Police Station, confirmed the incident. As the accident took place on railway property, the matter has been referred to the railway police, who will take necessary legal steps.
