Typhoid vaccination campaign begins in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - Like the rest of the country, typhoid vaccination has started in Bagerhat for children aged 9 months to 15 years. 
Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Ahsan inaugurated the vaccination programme at the city's Government Girls' High School this morning.
Bagerhat Civil Surgeon Dr. A. S. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office Dr. Sheikh Riyaduz Zaman, World Health Organization Representative Dr. Riasat Azim Ratul, District Education Officer Mohd. Sadequl Islam, teachers, students and guardians were present.
The vaccination programme will continue for the next 18 working days. A total of 4 lakh 11 thousand 381 children are expected to be vaccinated in Bagerhat at a total of 1,858 vaccination centers and 2,221 educational institutions. So far, more than a lakh of children have registered in Bagerhat district.

Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan said everyone should take this vaccine to prevent typhoid disease.
The typhoid vaccination program has been started simultaneously in 9 upazilas and 3 municipalities of Bagerhat, including Kachua and Mollahat, Bagerhat 250-bed hospital.
