Australia falls silent for Bondi Beach shooting victims

SYDNEY, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Australians fell silent in flickering candlelight on Sunday to honour the 15 Bondi Beach shooting victims, marking one week since gunmen fired into crowds at a Jewish festival.

The nation observed a minute's silence at 6.47 pm (0747GMT) -- exactly one week since the first reports of gunfire at the famous beach.
