DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - The 'Bijoy Boi Mela', or the Victory Book Fair,
at the Bangla Academy here resumed today after a two-day closure following
the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Shaheed Sharif Osman bin Hadi.

Since reopening at 3:00 pm, the fairground has been bustling with visitors
and book lovers.

Publishers welcomed the strong turnout, with stalls on history, the
Liberation War, the July uprising and contemporary political books attracting
particular attention.

Takim Sheikh of Gripper Mark Publications said the two-day closure affected
sales, but today's turnout was encouraging.

Dhaka University student Mehedi Iqbal said he bought two books today and
plans to buy another on the Liberation War.

The fair, which began on December 10, will conclude tomorrow with 170 stalls,
including 140 from leading publishers.
