DHAKA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi and his wife Hasina Gazi and ordered to confiscate their movable properties worth over TK 30.86 crore  and freeze 13 bank accounts.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order upon a petition of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), said ACC assistant director (public relations) Tanzil Ahmed.

In the petition, the ACC alleged that Golam Dastagir Gazi has amassed assets worth about TK 23.51 crore through corruption and misuse of state power.

Gazi also made suspicious transactions of TK 257 core more through six bank accounts.

“So, it is necessary to seize their properties and freeze the bank accounts and at the same time a travel ban should be imposed as they can’t flee the country for the sake of the investigation into the graft charges brought against them, ” the petition said.
