DHAKA, July 28, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today placed four people on a
three-day remand each in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over the
allegations of creating chaos on lower court premises.
The accused are: Mostakim Hossain, Md Nur Alam, Md Ruhul Amin and Md Anwar
Hossain.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana passed the order as police
produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-
day remand each.
According to the case documents, former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak was
produced before a court for the hearing on charge framing in the Truck driver
Hossain killing case on July 26. Some alleged members of Awami League and its
front organisations gathered on the court premises while Palak was taken away
from court, and chanted anti-government slogans.
Police detained four red-handed from the spot, while 100 to 150 more managed
to escape. Police later filed the case with Kotwali Police Station under the
Anti-Terrorism Act.
