Martyr Abu Sayed's family files complaint against 25 at ICT

DHAKA, Jan 13, 2025 (BSS) - The family members of martyr Abu Sayed today filed a complaint over his death against 25 people at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
 
Confirming the matter to newsmen, ICT Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam said Abu Sayed's elder brother Ramjan Ali and Sayed's friends, who were present on the scene during the incident, came today to file the complaint.
 
"They already filed a case with a Rangpur court in connection with his death, but as the killing of Abu Sayed falls under the category of crimes against humanity, they came here today. They came here on their own. At first, they had filed a verbal complaint and later filed it in writing. We will take action accordingly," the chief prosecutor said.

Abu Sayed, a student of the English Department at Begum Rokeya University, was shot to death by police on July 16, 2024 during the student-led mass uprising.
