Dhaka, Jan 22, 2025 (BSS) - No bomb or bomb-like objects found as a full search was conducted at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) and  on a Biman Bangladesh aircraft travelling from Rome to Dhaka after a bomb threat was received.

“As per protocol all baggage items checked. Nothing found. We called off search,” HSIA executive director Group Captain Kamrul Islam told BSS.

He also said, "We are handing over the baggage and processing respected passengers."

Earlier, all 250 passengers and 13 crew members were evacuated from the aircraft that landed safely at 9:20am at HSIA with a bomb threat.

It was reported that a false threat was given by an unnamed person that there is bomb or explosive substance inside a Dhaka bound flight coming from Rome.

Further details regarding the threat and the search will be shared with the media, said the airport source.
