CEC meets Chief Justice at Supreme Court

DHAKA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin today met Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed at the Supreme Court ahead of the upcoming national parliament elections and referendum.

The CEC arrived at the Supreme Court at 1:35 pm and was welcomed by Supreme Court Registrar General Muhammad Habibur Rahman Siddiqui. The meeting between the CEC and the Chief Justice began at 2:05 pm.

Earlier on Monday, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Akhtar Ahmed told reporters that the CEC will record an address for Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar tomorrow (December 10), to announce the schedule for the 13th national parliament elections and the referendum.

The EC secretary added that the CEC is currently finalizing the topics and timing for the recorded address.
