DHAKA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today stressed on enacting a separate law on an urgent basis to prevent fraudulence using artificial intelligence or online.

"Honorable Chief Adviser at the today's meeting of Council of Advisers gave a clear instruction to formulate a separate law on a very urgent basis to prevent fraudulence using artificial intelligence or online in Bangladesh," Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said while briefing the media about the meeting at the Foreign Service Academy here this afternoon.

He said Prof Yunus stressed on formulating the law specifying punishments and other necessary measures to combat the fraudulence, observing that the menace is tarnishing the country's image globally and causing harassment of the citizens to receive different services like visa processing and others.

A large number of people have also been the victims of financial fraudulence, the press secretary noted.
