Left Democratic Alliance leaders meet Tarique Rahman

DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) -  Top leaders of the Left Democratic Alliance have met with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today. 

The meeting took place at the BNP Chairman's office in Gulshan at 11am. 

Prior to the meeting, the Left Democratic Alliance leaders signed the condolence book for BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, placed at the venue.

Alliance leaders Mujahidul Islam Selim, Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan, Abdullah Kafi Ratan, Sharif Nurul Ambia, Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Dr. Mushtaq Hossain, Bazlur Rashid Firoz, Rakekuzzaman Ratan, Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Professor Abdus Sattar, Masud Rana, Mushrefa Mishu, and Abdul Ali.

After meeting with Tarique Rahman, Bazlur Rashid Firoz, the Coordinator of the Democratic United Front, said that a new situation and opportunity has arisen in Bangladesh following the 2024 mass uprising. He said that everyone, including the government and the opposition, wants to build Bangladesh together under Tarique Rahman's leadership.

He further stated that the Awami League has done business with the spirit of independence. The Democratic United Front has called upon the Acting Chairman of BNP to ensure that anti-liberation forces cannot play any political role in the future.
