Tarique Rahman continues office at PMO on weekend

DHAKA, March 7, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman continued official works at his Tejgaon office on the weekly holiday today (Saturday). 

Since taking oath as the prime minister on February 17, he continued official works at his Tejgaon office here in three consecutive Saturdays, the weekly holiday, a Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) press release said.

Prime Minister’s Advisers Ismail Zabiullah, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Mahdi Amin also attended their offices at the PMO here.

Besides, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman and other senior officials continued their official works at their respective offices at PMO.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman spent a busy schedule at his office even on the holiday today. He arrived at the PMO at 12:00 noon. 
Soon after his arrival, he held a meeting with the Director General of the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute Dr. Nargis Akter to discuss increasing diversified use of jute products and expanding their market.

Later at 2:30 pm, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood met the premier. During the meeting, they discussed reducing costs in the power and energy sector and ensuring effective energy management.

Meanwhile, the prime minister is scheduled to host an iftar at the state guest house Jamuna this evening in honour of the country’s ulema, mashayekh and orphans. 

He is scheduled to join the iftar directly from his office.
