PM chairs meeting on dev of Gulshan lake

DHAKA, May 19, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today chaired an important meeting on the development and environmental protection of the Gulshan-Banani-Baridhara lake in the city.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Division office in the Bangladesh Secretariat here this afternoon, said the Prime Minister’s Press Wing. 

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on preventing water pollution in Gulshan Lake, maintaining environmental balance, beautification efforts and enhancing civic amenities centered around the lake.

Concerned officials presented the current condition of the lake and shared their opinions on various sustainable development plans and initiatives centering the lake.

Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary A B M Abdus Sattar, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Safiqul Islam Khan, Prime Minister’s Assistant Private Secretary Abdur Rahman Suny, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Chairman Engineer Md Reazul Islam as well as secretaries and senior officials of the concerned ministries and offices were present at the meeting.
