DHAKA, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that
the government is taking necessary steps to ensure a speedy conclusion to the
Ramisa murder trial.

During a briefing at the conference room of the Home Ministry, Ahmed shared
that significant progress was made in court today.

Out of the 12 witnesses scheduled to appear, 11 have already completed their
testimonies, he also said, adding, "These witnesses include medical and
forensic experts who provided evidence regarding post-mortem and other
forensic reports."

"It is everyone's expectation that the trial be completed within a short
period, and we are making arrangements to ensure that," the Home Minister
said.

He emphasized that while the government cannot comment on the specifics of a
sub-judice matter, they are providing full cooperation by ensuring that
investigating officers and witnesses are present for every hearing.

The minister confirmed that a statement has already been recorded under
Section 164 from the accused currently in custody.

Ahmed also mentioned that the court has reportedly issued a directive to
refrain from discussing case details with outsiders without explicit judicial
permission.

While expressing hope for a fast-tracked verdict, Salahuddin Ahmed reiterated
that the final judgment and the timeline for the ruling remain strictly under
the jurisdiction of the court.
