Petronas Group CEO calls on PM

KUALA LUMPUR June 22, 2026 (BSS) - Datuk Sazali Hamzah, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Petronas Group, Malaysia's state-owned oil and gas company, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today. 

The meeting took place at 2:35 pm local time at the Shangri-La Hotel here today, according to PMO Press Wing. 

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance trade, investment and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Malaysia, with particular emphasis on collaboration in the energy sector.

Discussions also focused on ensuring a stable supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh and exploring potential investment opportunities by Petronas in the country. 

Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday on a two-day official visit. Wrapping up his visit, he left here for Dalian city of China in the afternoon and reached there at 11.05pm local time in Dalian.
