KUALA LUMPUR, June 22, 2026 (BSS) - Nick Rizal Kamil Nik Ibrahim Kamil, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Robi Axiata Group, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The meeting was held at 2:50 pm local time today at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, according to PMO Press Wing. 

During the meeting, they discussed investment opportunities in Bangladesh's telecommunications sector, the development of digital infrastructure and particularly in the early rollout of 5G networks in Bangladesh.

Representatives of Axiata Group also thanked the Prime Minister for introducing an investment-friendly budget and reaffirmed their interest in expanding their engagement in Bangladesh's digital and telecommunications sectors. 

Earlier, the prime minister arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday on a two-day official visit. Wrapping up his visit, he left here for Dalian city of China in the afternoon and reached there at 11:05pm local time in Dalian.
