DHAKA, Feb 9, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today recorded confessional

statements of two accused in a case over gang rape of a housewife after
confining her husband at Jahangirnagar University campus.

The two accused are- main plotter behind the crime Md Mamunur Rashid alias
Mamun, 44, and his accomplice Md Murad Hossain.

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Sheikh Mujahidul Islam recoded their
statements under section 164 as police produced the duo before the court.

Earlier on February 8, Dhaka Judicial Magistrate Farhana Yasmin sent four
other accused Mostafizur Rahman, his associates Sabbir Hasan, Sagar Siddique
and Hasanuzzaman to jail after end of their three days of remand in the case.

The gruesome incident took place at around 9:30 pm on February 3, as they
confined victim's husband at varsity's Mir Mosharraf Hall and raped the
victim dragging her to nearby bush.
