DHAKA, Nov 25, 2024 (BSS) - Some 800 telephones of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) have been remained out of services in Savar due to snapping of its underground cable.
Miscreants broke lids of three BTCL manholes in Savar area and cut 2400 and 3000 pairs of underground copper cables, which caused the disruption of the services of important government/private telephone numbers, said a BTCL media release today.
The repair work is being taken time due to water accumulating in the manholes from the sewerage lines and delay in obtaining permission from the authorities concerned for digging the road, the release said.
The telephones will be operational within the next week.
BTCL authorities sincerely regretted for the temporary inconvenience caused for their valued customers.
