DHAKA, February 15, 2024 (BSS)-The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has established a 'Breast Feeding Center' aimed at providing special service to the mothers at Ekushey Boi Mela.

“We have taken the initiative to serve the visitors especially those who visit the Boi Mela crying with little children. Our breastfeeding center is located on the south side of the Police Control Room in Suhrawardy Udyan,” a police officer on duty at Boi Mela told BSS here today.

He said DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman took the initiative for serving the mothers so that they could not face any hassle at the Boi Mela.

Talking to BSS, a female visitor said that many visitors have applauded this great initiative of the DMP to serve the mothers in a crowded place like book fair. 

She said the visitors can also contact the officer-in-charge of the Police Control Room located at the Book Mela and the contact numbers are 01749-419904 (Police Control Room in Bangla Academy) and 01734-290977, 02-44610016 (Police Control Room in Sohrawardy Udyan).

DMP Commissioner said that any female visitor can visit the book fair with little baby so that the DMP established breastfeeding center at the Boi Mela. “Mothers can easily do breastfeeding to their little babies. 

Amar Ekushe Book Fair-2024 is the fond of life fair of the Bangali nation was started on February 1. People from all walks of life including writers, publishers and children and teenagers come to the book fair. 

The women policemen of DMP are handing over chocolates to the mothers who come to the breastfeeding center and the little babies who are with them.

Describing about the breastfeeding center and its service, a mother from Mirpur said that the DMP has taken the initiative, which is very effective for women.
