PIRGANJ, RANGPUR, July 4, 2024 (BSS) - Three persons, including mother and her son, died after falling into a septic-tank at Dap Udoypur village in Mithapukur upazila in the district this morning.

The deceased were Delwara Begum,56, wife of Badsha Mia, her son Huda Mia, 35, and Iblul Mia,35, son of Tobarrak Hossen.

Officer-in-charge of Mithapukur police station Ferdous Wahid told BSS, "Delwara Begum went to collect vegetables at nearby field around 6 am and suddenly she fell inside an under construction septic tank. Her son and another person Iblul Mia immediately had tried to rescue her but all of them died due to effect of poisonous gas inside the tank".

Later, the fire fighters of Mithapukur Fire Service office reached the spot and recovered three bodies from the septic tank around 7.30am, he added.
