MADARIPUR, Nov 24, 2024 (BSS) - Former shipping minister Shajahan Khan and former lawmaker Abdus Sobhan Golap were sent to the jail today in connection with two separate murder cases.

Senior Judicial Magistrate, Madaripur, Sajid Ul Hasan Chowdhury passed the order rejecting their bail petitions.

Both the central Awami League (AL) leaders were earlier produced before the court amid tight security measures in the cases of killing Dipta and Touhid during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Shajahan Khan, a former lawmaker from Madaripur-3 constituency and Abdus Sobhan Golap, a former lawmaker from Madaripur-3 seat were shown arrested in the Dpita and Touhid murder cases respectively.
