DHAKA, Nov 25, 2024(BSS)-Central leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Mahbub Alam was taken on a three-day police remand for his alleged involvement in the attack on students of Dhaka University during the anti-discrimination student movement in last July-August.

Inspector Md Monirul Islam of the Detective Branch (DB), also the investigation officer of the case, today produced Mahbub before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate with a prayer for seven-day remand.

Lawyer of the accused, moved a bail petition and opposed the remand prayer.

Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman granted three-day police remand for interrogating Mahbub.

Police on Monday morning arrested Mahbub Alam from city’s Shyamoli area.
