DHAKA, Jan 01, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today ordered authorities concerned to produce Armed Police Battalion (APBn) constable Mohammad Sujan, who was seen shooting at student-people rally in capital's Chankharpul area, on January 12.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order this morning.

"We pleaded to show him arrested in a crimes against humanity case and produce him before the tribunal. Allowing our plea, the tribunal ordered to produce him before it on January 12. The court also ordered to submit probe report in the case on February 23," prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud told BSS.

The prosecutor said constable Sujan is in jail after getting arrested in a case filed with the Shahbagh Police Station.

Constable Mohammad Sujan was seen shooting from his Chinese rifle aiming at the protesters near Shaikh Burhanuddin Post Graduate College in capital's Chankharpul area on August 5. Video footages of Sujan firing and expressing joy after hitting protesters became viral on social media platforms.

The APBn handed Sujan over to the Detective Branch on September 13. Shahbagh police later took Sujan into custody in connection with a murder case filed over the police station.
