Police recovers 32 tolas of stolen gold ornaments, arrests 2

DHAKA, Jan 4, 2025 (BSS) - Police on Friday night recovered 32 tolas of stolen gold ornaments and arrested two persons for their suspected involvement in the misdeed.  

The arrestees are Mahin (16) and Rehan (16).

Police arrested the duo in a raid conducted in Adabor Thana area on Friday night.

According to the case details, the plaintiff Babli Sarkar went to Bangladesh Eye Hospital for his mother's treatment after locking her house on Road No. 16 in Adabor at around 6:00 pm on December 28. 

After the treatment, she went to her grandfather's house in Savar from the hospital. 

A day later, on December 30, at around 11:50 pm, she returned home and found the door of her house broken. She entered the house and found the lock of the cupboard broken and the clothes in a messy state. 

She also found that various types of gold and silver ornaments, kept in the cupboard, missing. 

In this incident, on January 3, 2025, a theft case was registered with Adabor Police Station.

Two people involved in the incident were arrested from Adabor Police Station  with the help of information technology and recovered 32.3 tolas of gold ornaments, 10.15 tolas of silver ornaments and Tk 87,000 in cash from their possession, police said.
