BCL leader admits responsibility of attacking Khaleda Zia's convoy

DHAKA, Jan 04, 2025 (BSS)- Banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Md Abul Hasan has admitted his involvement with the attack on the convoy of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia during an election campaign at Karwan Bazar in 2015.

Abul Hasan, a senior vice president of BCL Tejgaon Thana unit, was arrested yesterday.

Police produced him before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court after one-day remand. 

IO of the case said the accused acknowledged his link with the incident and requested the court to record his confession.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam recorded the statement of the BCL leader and asked the prosecution to sent him to jail.
