BNP serving people since its inception: Dr. AZM Zahid

DINAJPUR, Jan 4, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain today reaffirmed the dedication of the members of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), established by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, to serve the nation since its inception. 

 “We have always tried to stand beside the people in their hardships and their rights are upheld whenever threatened”, he said while distributing winter clothes at Raniganj Government School and College of in the district.

Dr. Zahid distributed blankets to underprivileged locals which he attributed to the party’s legacy of public service and emphasized the party’s commitment to alleviating the struggles of the people.     

“As political workers, we follow the example set by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, continued by Begum Khaleda Zia, and now upheld by our leader Tarique Rahman”, he said.

Urging local party members to reach out to the grassroots, Dr. Zahid said, “Take the party’s 31-point program to every neighborhood and household. Support our state reform agenda wholeheartedly, and always stand by the people in their times of need”. 

Criticizing the ousted Awami League government, he said, “While in power, BNP worked for the welfare of the people. In contrast, the fascist Awami League government has looted the nation’s wealth and smuggled those abroad”.

Chaired by BNP’s Ghoraghat municipality unit President Abdus Sattar Milon, Dinajpur District BNP Vice-President Atikur Rahman Raja, Ghoraghat Upazila BNP President SM Shamim Hossain Chowdhury, General Secretary Abu Sayeed and municipality BNP General Secretary Mukhtar Hossain spoke on the occasion, among others.
