Govt to support making documentary on July uprising: Nahid

DHAKA, Jan 6, 2025 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam has said the government will extend all support to make documentary on the July Uprising.

He said this at the closing ceremony of a training course on Content Creation, Screenplay and Visual Production Techniques at the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) here today.

Nahid put emphasis on preserving video footage of the July uprising, saying it is all of our responsibility to preserve the history of this historic movement

The adviser noted that while the uprising bears stories of the fascist ruler's brutality, it also highlights the courage of students and the people.

Nahid, also Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology adviser, stressed the need to bring the stories of the students' bravery to the forefront.

He thanked the trainees and course organizers for their efforts in creating video content on the July uprising.

The adviser urged the trainees to apply the knowledge they gained from the training.

Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Mahbuba Farzana, Course Director Dr Md Maruf Nawaz and Convener of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry's Search Committee Md. Al Amin Rakib Tonoy, among others, spoke on the occasion while the event was chaired by the Director General of the NIMC Suhfi Zakir Hossain.

Later, Adviser Nahid Islam distributed certificates among the trainees.
