DMP forms 3-member committee to probe police-student clash

DHAKA, Jan 8, 2025 (BSS) -The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident of chase and counter-chase between students of Prime Asia University and police in front of the Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.
 
DMP Joint Commissioner (Crime) Md. Faruk Hossain was made head of the committee, according to an office order signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat ??Ali.
 
The body can co-opt any officer as a member if necessary.
 
The committee has been given five working days to submit a detailed report of the matter with its opinion after uncovering the real cause of the incident and determining the responsibilities, said a DMP press release.
