DHAKA, Jan 11, 2025 (BSS) – Head of Labour Reform Commission Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed today said his commission has been working relentlessly to submit its recommendations by February 18, the time fixed by the government.

Talking to BSS, he said the commission has already exchanged views with the representatives of nearly 200 organisations and institutions in 40 view exchange meetings since its inception.

He however, said the commission is working to ensure the basic rights of all institutional and informal workers.

Ahmed said preparations are underway to ensure that the Labor Reform Commission can formulate recommendations by mid-February taking into account everyone's opinions with the aim of establishing social justice for working class of people.

He said the Labour Reform Commission will have to submit recommendations to the Chief Advisor within 90 days to improve labour and industrial relations after taking the opinions of all stakeholders.

The government has formed the labour reform commission in November to propose necessary reforms to the country’s existing labour law for ensuring rights and improving worker welfare.
