DHAKA, Jan 13, 2025 (BSS)- The government has exempted 7.5 percent additional value added tax (VAT) at the production stage of LP gas.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued a special order in this regard today.

It said that at present LP Gas is being used as fuel for cooking, transport and industries.

Now insufficient supply of natural gas by gas distribution companies, the demand for LP Gas has been increasing in various the industries including garment factories.

It mentioned that in a bid to make the production and use of LP gas easily available and affordable, the NBR has exempted 7.5 percent additional VAT at the production stage.

This order came effective from January 9, 2025, the NBR said.
