Fire at 3 resorts in St. Martin now under control: ISPR

DHAKA, Jan 15, 2025 (BSS) - The fire that broke out at three resorts-- Beach 
Valley, Kingshuk and Sayri Eco Resorts-- in Coral Island Saint Martin was 
brought under control at 4 am, two hours after the incidents occurred.

A release of the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said 
here this afternoon.

Being informed, the Bangladesh Navy rushed to the spot and started to 
extinguish the blaze. Subsequently, members of Bangladesh Coast Guard, 
Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB), policemen and local people joined the rescue 
campaign.

"With the combined and frantic efforts of the Navy, Coast Guard, BGB and 
Police, the terrible fire at the three resorts in the Saint Martin was 
brought under control," the ISPR release said.

During the rescue operation, the Navy personnel have shifted the tourists 
staying in the resorts to safe places besides controlling the fire, the 
release added.
