Capt Basit Mahtab, Capt Sadat Jamil elected as president, GS of BAPA

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - Captain Md. Abdul Basit Mahtab and Captain Sadat 
Jamil have been elected as the new president and general secretary of the 
Bangladesh Airline Pilots Association (BAPA) respectively. 

The election results with a 13-member executive committee were announced on 
Tuesday, said a Biman Bangladesh Airlines press release said here today. 

The other members of the full executive committee are: Vice President Captain 
Md. Mehedi Hasan, Treasurer Captain Muntasir Mahbub, Joint Secretary 
(Administration) Captain Manab Dipto, Joint Secretary (Operations) First 
Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed, Joint Secretary (Current Affairs) Captain Atiab Zubair 
Zafar and Executive Members - First Officer Md. Soleiman, First Officer Mohsin 
Kamal, First Officer Shamir Uddin Ahmed, First Officer Abu Zafar Mahmud 
Rafsan, First Officer Md. Rubab Islam Khan, and First Officer Abdullah Al 
Noman.

BAPA is a registered trade union of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and an active 
member of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations 
(IFALPA) while it works closely with the International Civil Aviation 
Organization (ICAO).
