SC 'Presidential feast' turns into a get-together event

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - The today's 'presidential feast' hosted by the president of Bangladesh Supreme Court has turned into a get-together event of invited guests, attended by Chief Justice, Army Chief and BNP Secretary General.

Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokon, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, organized the feast at the bar association premises in line with the tradition and heritage of the bar.

Most of senior justices of the appellate division and the high court division of the Supreme Court, Chief of Army Staff General Wakar-Uz-Zaman, Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and several thousand lawyers of the Supreme Court attended the 'feast.'
 
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Standing Committee Members Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Salah Uddin Ahmed and Begum Selima Rahman and Special Assistant to BNP Chairperson Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas also joined the feast.
 
Besides, Commissioners of the Anti-Commission Commission (ACC), senior police officials, journalists and other invited guests also joined.

Referring to the feast, Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokon told journalists that the annual feast of the bar and the president's feast are the parts of tradition and heritage that began during Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque. "I have been expressing my gratitude and gratefulness to all who joined my feast," he added.

The event was followed by a cultural function.
