Heat wave sweeps over 8 districts

DHAKA, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, Bandarban & Rangamati and it may abate from some places.

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) releases this noon.

" Rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, " the release said.

Met office said the low pressure area over central part of South Bay moved slightly northwestwards and now lies over Southwest Bay and adjoining southeast Bay at 06 am of Today.

 It is likely to move northwestwards next 12 hours and thereafter likely to move northwards. Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, it added.

Country's maximum temperature was recorded at 37.6 degrees Celsius on Monday at Feni under Chattogram Division while today's minimum temperature as 19.5 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat under Rangpur Division.

Today's sunset will be at 06:17 pm while tomorrow's sunrise at 05:44am in the capital.
