MYMENSINGH, April 21, 2025(BSS) - A motivational workshop on recognition in higher education was held today at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) here aimed at upgrading education into international standard by ensuring quality of higher education.
Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) with the help of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university organized the workshop in Dean office conference room of the Agriculture faculty this morning.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the BAU Prof Dr AKM Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan attended the workshop as the chief guest with BAC Member Prof Dr S M Kabir in the chair.
IQAC Director Prof Dr Md Asaduzzaman Sarkar delivered the address of welcome where over 100 teachers of different departments of the university were present.
The BAU VC Prof Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan said that many of our faculties have been participating at various steps in the accreditation process and the workshop will open a new direction for them.
“We, anybody, are not completely perfect but development is a must if there is a will,” the VC said.
“The accreditation is a long and continuous process in which active participation and sincere efforts are essential and the university administration is committed to ensure its highest cooperation in this regard,” the VC added.
The BAC Member Dr SM Kabir said that the accreditation is an important medium to scrutinize the standard of education, identifying its weakness and making the way of development smooth.
“Our motive is to take all the higher educational institutions into the international standard and it is very urgent for the teachers and administration to participate in it,” he added.
There is no doubt about the efficiency of Bangladesh Agricultural University and it is one of the best institutions of the country in the field of research oriented- education, Dr Kabir said adding that the contribution of the university in the socio-economic development of the country is unquestionable.
The workshop was followed by a question and answer session.
