27,819 students remain absent on 4th day of SSC, equivalent exams

DHAKA, April 21, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 27,819 examinees were absent, while 79 candidates and three invigilators were expelled on the fourth day of the SSC and equivalent exams across the country. 

The information was reveled today through a press release signed by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Chairman and Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee President Professor Dr Khandaker Ehasanul Kabir.
 
Speaking to BSS, Ehasanul Kabir said the SSC examinations, which began across the country on April 10 under tight security, are being conducted in a peaceful environment nationwide.

This year, on the fourth day of the SSC examination, 367,516 candidates were supposed to appear under the Dhaka Board, but 362,750 candidates participated in the exams meaning 4,766 candidates remained absent in the examinations. A total of seven examinees were expelled in this board.

A total of 173,164 candidates took part in the SSC exams under Rajshahi Education Board out of 175,171 examinees. A total of 1,007 candidates were absent and two candidates were expelled. 

In Cumilla Board, 150,392 examinees were present in the SSC exam out of 1,52,192 candidates. A total of 1,800 candidates were absent while thirteen examinees were expelled in this board.

A total of 130,857 examinees took part in the SSC exam under the Jashore Education Board out of 132,830 candidates. A total of 1,973 candidates were absent, while four students were expelled.

In Chattogram Board, 128,557 candidates took part in the SSC exam out of 129,941 examinees. A total of 1,348 candidates were absent.

In Sylhet, 87,340 candidates took part in the SSC exam out of 88,447 examinees. A total of 1,107 candidates were absent in the exam. One invigilator was expelled. 

A total of 80,359 examinees took part in the SSC exam in Barishal Education Board out of 81,633 candidates. A total of 1,274 candidates were absent while seven examinees were expelled.

In Dinajpur Education Board, 169,172 candidates took part in the SSC exam out of 170,879 examinees. A total of 1,707 examinees were absent in the exam. Seven candidates were expelled in this board.

A total of 100,243 examinees took part in the SSC exam under Mymensingh Education Board out of 101,414 candidates. A total of 1,171 examinees were absent. Besides, seven examinees and two invigilators were expelled in this board.

In Madrasha Education Board, 245,073 candidates took part in the exam out of 255,703 examinees. A total of 10,630 examinees were absent. Besides, 28 students were expelled.
